“The individuals who have stepped forward to lead the subcommittees are outstanding leaders who will bring innovative thinking to the council’s deliberations and help us deliver and promote a set of solid recommendations for realizing America’s export potential, McNerney said.
Pedraza said: “I was greatly encouraged by President Obama’s launch of the Export Control Reform Initiative and its stated goals of strengthening national security and the competitiveness of key U.S. manufacturing and technology sectors. I wholeheartedly agree that “building higher fences around a smaller list of items” will assist us to focus on controlling the products and technologies that pose the greatest concerns to our nation’s safety while providing regulatory relief to the exporting community, especially small and medium sized companies”. “I look forward to collaborating with the relevant agencies in forming advice for the Administration as it tackles the many challenges ahead in the area of export control reform, and to bring these items for the full consideration of the PEC as appropriate”, Pedraza added.
Mr. Pedraza is a 30 year veteran of the logistics industry and veteran of the U.S. Army. His vast experience in the private sector, history of service to country, and entrepreneurial spirit, provide him with a unique perspective on matters of policy and how these could lead to export growth and job creation.
